As we have said many times, there's plenty to complain about at 105-year-old Fenway Park—obstructed views, cramped seating, kale. But we have never complained about the quality of the park's hot dogs. As we celebrate
National Hot Dog Day in these United States, we in Boston should be thankful that
our Fenway Franks are
steamed, not grilled to a cinder and wrapped in tinfoil like at
The Concrete Bunker On 161st Street. It's estimated by the authoritative
National Hot Dog and Sausage Council that fans at baseball games will consume
21.4 million hot dogs this season. So, if you are headed to Fenway Park tonight, get yourself a delectable Fenway Frank (mustard only, not ketchup!) and celebrate
National Hot Dog Day—even if you're a vegetarian.
