According to
Jon Heyman of
FanRagSports.com,
the Red Sox will soon sign top Venezuelan catching prospect Daniel Flores. The 16-year-old phenom (already 6'1", 200 pounds) is said to have elite "catch-and-throw" skills—as well as
serious power possibilities. The current Red Sox farm organization is light on catching, so this deal (which is said to be $3.3 million) will help boost long-range quality behind the plate.
