Well, it had to happen sooner or later—politics and baseball have now overlapped. When it became apparent that
Sen. John McCain's performance at today's
James Comey hearing was—shall we say, less than stellar—the Arizona solon felt the need to explain. Seemingly tongue-in-cheek, McCain issued, in part, the following formal statement:
"I got the sense from Twitter that my line of questioning today went over people's heads. Maybe going forward I shouldn't stay up late watching the Diamondbacks night games." Hey, come on, you gotta love that!
