Sox Place E-Rod On 10-Day DL With 'Knee Discomfort'
Well, it looks like that pre-game tumble in the bullpen was an issue. The Red Sox announced this afternoon that they have placed left-handed starter Eduardo Rodriguez on the 10-day disabled list with "knee discomfort". When the words "knee" and "E-Rod" appear in the same sentence, it's not good. Keep in mind that the pitcher missed significant time in 2016 due to knee issues—and re-injured the knee over this past winter. Of course, E-Rod was creamed yesterday by the Orioles—who launched four HRs off him. Once again, the team medical staff seems to have botched another situation. If he indicated any knee concerns before the game yesterday, he should have been shelved by the medical staff. Period.
