Mookie Bets went 4-5—
including two home runs—to help propel the Red Sox to
a 7-3 win over the hapless Phillies. Boston built a 5-0 early lead—but the Fightins' cut it 5-3 against Sox starter
Brian Johnson.
Xander Bogaerts added three RBIs as Boston climbed to within two games of the losing
Empire.
The Carmine Hose bullpen continued to shine—allowing just two hits over 6.2 innings after Johnson left early with an arm injury. Boston is now a season-high nine games over .500 as they wrap up this weird "home-and-home" Inter-League series tonight.
