Things were not looking good for the
Carmine Hose. Down 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth, a third straight loss staring them in the face, things turned.
Mitch Moreland led off the fourth with a 388-foot HR to get the Sox on the board. A single, walk and single brought home another run. Still, double plays were squandering opportunities. In the eighth—still down 3-2—the floodgates finally opened.
Xander Bogaerts opened the frame with a single, then got into scoring position on an error. Moreland knocked in
Bogie and then it was
Jackie Bradley, Jr.'s turn. Coming off a sizzling road trip (13 RBIs), JBJ launched a mammoth 457-foot HR (on the anniversary of the
Ted Williams 502-footer) for a two-run lead.
Craig Kimbrel came in for his now virtually automatic save (#18), and Boston had
a 5-3 win. They had it all the way!
