John Valentin—who played for the Red Sox from 1992 to 2001—
was injured (along with his mother) in a New Jersey car crash. Police say that the 50-year-old Valentin crashed the SUV he was driving into a building—after suffering what
may have been a medical problem. According to police more than half of the SUV was embedded into the vacant building. Neither Valentin—nor his 71-year-old mother—were said to have suffered life-threatening injuries. Obviously, we wish both a speedy recovery.
