Víctor Martínez, who played for the Red Sox in 2009 and 2010,
has been hospitalized for dizziness and an accelerated heartbeat. After going 2-4 in last night's game, Martínez was lifted by Tiger Manager
Brad Ausmus. The 38-year old spent the night in the hospital and is expected to stay there all of Friday. Martínez hit .313 for the Sox—but left as a free agent at the end of the 2010 season. In the ensuing six seasons, he has hit .299, with 101 HRs. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope he is back in the Detroit lineup soon.
