Chris Sale was brilliant again. Going seven stellar innings, the lefty ace fanned 12 Rays and gave up just two hits (unfortunately both HRs) in
a 6-3 win. Sale now has double-digit strikeout games in seven straight starts. Offensive support was mostly provided by
Mookie Betts (2-run HR, 3 RBIs) and
Deven Marrero (a 2-RBIs double). Marrero also delivered two stellar defensive plays at 3B. This was a solid win—that could have easily gone the other way without timely hitting.
Joe Kelly and
Craig Kimbrel finished off the contest with two scoreless frames—Kimbrel notching his 11th save.
