The Steal. The architect of that watershed Red Sox moment turns forty-five years old today.
Dave Roberts—the current skipper of the Los Angeles Dodgers—has a new life now. He's conquered health issues and transitioned from playing to coaching to managing. But, he will forever be "the guy that changed history". I recall traveling to San Diego on business in the Summer of 2005 and attending a Padres game. In the pre-game shuffle, I saw Roberts in the San Diego dugout. He saw my Red Sox hat. We both nodded and gave each other knowing smiles. For all of us in
