On Monday afternoon, Red Sox legend
David Ortiz appeared on WFAN with
Mike Francesa. After once referring to Ortiz as "Pedro",
the buffoonish host asked if the former Red Sox DH had ever used steroids. Said Ortiz,
"Never. That wasn’t my purpose. I was a guy that I worked extremely hard to get better. I keep on saying to people that I got more drug testing than anybody ever has in baseball, and I never failed one. It was just a rumor on the street. Nobody ever came to me and told me, ‘This is what you tested positive for.’ And you saw what the commissioner say: ‘This was inconclusive.’ I mean, it was their word against mine basically." Hopefully, this New York City fool has ironically put this silliness to rest.
