Multiple reports suggest that Red Sox starter
David Price may go on a minor-league rehab assignment as early as two weeks from now—based on his condition after two bullpen sessions. This is unexpectedly good news on the lefty—who many feared would be headed to
Tommy John surgery on his left elbow and a lost season. Price threw bullpens on Monday and Wednesday of this week, and
could participate in a third one on Saturday. If he truly does start a rehab stint in two weeks, that could—conceivably—have him starting games for real at the major-league level sometime in May.
