UPDATE: Nixon found safe
Otis Nixon, who spent one season (1994) with the Red Sox, has been reported missing in the state of Georgia. According to police, the 58-year-old Nixon left around 10 AM on Saturday to play golf at a local course. He never got to the golf course. He had been driving a grey Range Rover. In his one year in Carmine Hose, Nixon hit .274 in 103 games—with 42 stolen bases. Nixon had a long, 17-year MLB career with nine different teams—Atlanta, Cleveland, Montreal, Toronto, Minnesota, the Dodgers, Texas, the Yankees and Boston. He had perhaps his best season in 1991 with the Braves. Nixon hit .297 that year and stole 72 bases in just 124 games. In six post-season series, he hit .321 with 11 stolen bases. We hope the authorities find him safe and sound soon.
