A New, Hopeful 2017 Season Dawns At Fenway Park
We will spare you the "lyric little bandbox" prose—it's always over the top. All we need to say is baseball is back in Boston and that's a good thing. After last season's swift exit from the post-season, this year's team will have the same core of young stars—with one more year of maturity under their collective belt. David Ortiz is gone, and there's no doubt that will be a drag on the offense. But others should step up to fill some of the void—particularly Andrew Benintendi and Pablo Sandoval. There are still a ton of questions about the health of this team's pitching—among both starters and the bullpen. But Boston should get enough solid pitching and generate enough offense to eek out another first-place spot in the AL East. Forecast: 50 degrees and sunny. Bring it on!
