In case you missed it, it was recently announced that
the CITGO sign in Boston's Kenmore Square—an iconic backdrop for Fenway Park—has been saved from extinction. Over 16,000 signatures were compiled in an online petition (promoted by this and other Red Sox-themed websites) to insure that the sign not be removed. An agreement was reached between the new owners of the building (upon which the sign sits) and CITGO. Full disclosure: CITGO is owned by the virulently anti-American government of Venezuela. Hate the company, love the sign.
