A.J. With Red Sox In 2014 |
Apparently, FOX Sports didn't feel they had
fully cornered the market on "brash", controversial baseball talking heads.
Alex Rodriguez and
Pete Rose weren't quite enough. So, the network announced that, upon his official retirement from MLB,
A.J. Pierzynski will join the crew as a full-time analyst. The former Red Sox backstop was not exactly a positive clubhouse presence during his 19-year career with the Twins, Giants, White Sox, Red Sox, Cardinals and Braves. In his short, 72-game stay in Boston, A.J. hit .254 with 4 HRs and 31 RBIs. Full disclosure: the
one interaction your humble scribe had with Pierzynski was completely professional and even affable! Go figure.
