Every Spring Training there seems to be at least one story that raises doubts about the efficacy of the crack Red Sox medical team. This year, the continuing discomfort in the right shoulder of
Hanley Ramirez is that story. Typically
"poo-pooed" at the start by the team and medical staff, things always seem to get worse. Now, with no discernible improvement since camp opening, manager
John Farrell is alluding to the probable need for "additional testing". So, far, all testing has been
manual—suggesting more sever tests (like an MRI) are in Hanley's
near future. Of course, he is still scheduled to leave for the mega-dumb World Baseball Classic on Friday. If nothing else,
Dave Dombrowski should kill that plan
today.
