The Baseball Essential website has ranked Red Sox second-baseman
Dustin Pedroia as the seventh-best MLB player at his position. Pedroia had a
huge bounce-back (and injury-free) 2016 and has catapulted back into the "best second-baseman" conversation. Ranked
before The Muddy Chicken are:
Jose Altuve,
Robinson Cano,
Brian Dozier,
Daniel Murphy,
Ian Kinsler and
DJ LaMahieu. Said the website of the 33-year-old
Laser Show,
"Pedroia proved he is still among the best at his position and likely will continue to be as he assumes the role of grizzled veteran on a young Red Sox team". Clearly, he will be key to keeping a
Papi-Free offense clicking.
