Good news, baseball fans! Not only did the Cubs-Indians World Series Game Five kick the NFL's butt on Sunday night,
it was one of the highest rated baseball games in a long time.
Of course, the Red Sox own the top two biggest audiences for non-clinching World Series games—Games Two and Three of the 2004
Fall Classic. And,
of course,
The Carmine Hose hold the all-time World Series single game record of 28,844,000 viewers to their Game Four clincher in 2004. But, still, Sunday night's ratings were spectacular—netting 23,600,000 viewers—the fourth-highest for a non-clinching World Series game since 2000. It may be slow, it may be old-fashioned—but thanks goodness, Americans still love baseball!
