With the World Series finished, look for announcements to emanate from Yawkey Way at a fast and furious pace. You know, grey smoke for a signing, black smoke for a trade—that kind of thing. One of the first pieces of news will likely be that the team has picked up the $13.5 million option on pitcher Clay Buchholz. Multiple reports indicate that the move will be a no-brainer for Dave Dombrowski—giving him the flexibility to either trade the tall Texas righty (who, despite a decent second-half, was still the same old inconsistent Clay) or simply keep him as rotation/bullpen insurance. The team will also probably 'buyout' the contract of Andover High School's Ryan Hanigan at $800,000 and decline his $3.75 million option for 2017. Stay tuned!
