Manny Ramirez,
Jason Varitek, and
Tim Wakefield are among the
nineteen new players added to the 2017 National Baseball Hall Of Fame ballot. Other newly-named players with
Carmine Hose affiliations are:
Edgar Renteria,
Orlando Cabrera,
Matt Stairs,
Mike Cameron,
J.D. Drew and
Freddy Sanchez. It's highly unlikely that any of the
new Sox-related players will gain enshrinement in 2017—but it is amazing how many former Boston players are eligible next year. For example, joining the 'newbies' and returning on the ballot will be:
Roger Clemens and
Curt Schilling.
