There's
literally a 50-50 chance that
Torey Lovullo will
not be in the Red Sox dugout in 2017. Multiple reports now suggest that
the Boston bench coach is one of two finalists for the Arizona Diamondbacks managerial opening. The other contender—
Phil Nevin—is considered the less likely choice. Former Red Sox infielder
Alex Cora also interviewed for the position—but did not make the final cut. Lovullo has been very close to new D'Backs GM (and former Boston GM)
Mike Hazen. Stay tuned, the decision could happen in the next 24-48 hours.
