Talk about your statement games! The Red Sox showed up in
The Great White North tonight and
eviscerated the Blue Jays, 13-3.
Rick Porcello went seven solid innings, giving up just two earned runs and becoming
the first 20-game winner in Major League Baseball. The Boston offense was paced by a whole host of hitters—but
Dustin Pedroia (3-4, 4 RBIs) and
Hanley Ramirez (2-3, 3 RBIs, HR) led the way.
Xander Bogaerts also homered and knocked in two runs. This one became a true laugher in the seventh inning—when Boston put up a six-spot 'crooked number'. The 18-hit attack by
The Carmine Hose pretty effectively quieted the 46,953 who gathered in
SkyDome. The win widens Boston's division lead to two full games over Toronto (and three games over Baltimore).
