Red Sox Will Honor David Ortiz During Last Homestand
This year's final three games at Fenway between the Red Sox and Blue Jays (September 30-October 2) are likely to be eventful in and of themselves. In addition to their impact on the AL East pennant race, they will be the final three regular season home games of David Ortiz's career. To pay tribute to his HOF-worthy 14 years in Carmine Hose, the Red Sox will celebrate Big Papi in all three games. Players will wear jersey and cap patches with a special Ortiz-themed logo. Fans at the last game (October 2nd) will receive a commemorative version of the patch. NESN will also air two television specials on Ortiz, "David Ortiz: The Journey" and "The David Ortiz Era". Special events will also take place before each game.
