The Bronx Embalmers swept the Red Sox last night 5-1—
but were eliminated from post-season contention. OK, we'll take that. Boston continued its odd slide after surging in September with 11 straight victories. The slump is jeopardizing their quest for the best AL record and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. It might also affect who they play in the ALDS starting next Thursday.
The Carmine Hose punched out just four hits and seem to have lost their
mojo after the disastrous 9th inning bullpen implosion on Wednesday night.
