If Governor
Charlie Baker, Senate President
Stan Rosenberg, and House Speaker
Robert DeLeo have their way,
there's a bridge they want to name. The thoroughfare in question (part of Brookline Ave.) stretches across the
MassPike from Lansdowne Street to Newbury Street—right near a certain old ballpark. It's not really called anything now, but soon it could be the
"David Ortiz (‘Big Papi’) Bridge".
The Large Father would join another Red Sox legend—
Ted Williams—in having a piece of Boston's infrastructure named after him. This proposal makes
so much sense, it might even break the partisan gridlock on Beacon Hill.
