Canadian Pizza Joint Changes Name To Tweak Red Sox
The Canadian-based chain "Boston Pizza" is changing its name this weekend—at the least at the unit closest to SkyDome (never to be referred to as Rogers Centre). A temporary sign with the word "Boston" crossed out and "Toronto" painted on now appears on the establishment. How clever! A chain spokesperson stated the following: "With the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox currently neck-and-neck in the pennant race for top spot in the AL East [sic], Boston Pizza, the official sports bar of the Toronto Blue Jays, wants to minimize any confusion about where its true loyalty stands." We thought our friends to the North were supposed to be polite. Ah, who cares? The pizza probably stinks anyway.
