Price And Red Sox Can Take First With Victory Tonight
The Red Sox have an opportunity to gain a share of first-place in the American League East with a victory over the Tampa Bay Rays tonight. The reason is that the Blue Jays are off today—so if David Price can power past his old team, Boston can again claim top position in the division. So far on this grueling 11-game road trip, The Carmine Hose are a surprising 5-2, so these four games against the Rays can be crucial. Clay Buchholz will again take Steven Wright's spot on Tuesday (the knuckleballer will now pitch Sunday), ace Rick Porcello will go Wednesday, and Drew Pomeranz will go in Thursday's matinee. Of course, it's never been easy for the Red Sox to win in Tampa, but things are set up pretty good for at least a split—which would give them a stellar 7-4 trip.
