Rick Porcello was looking forward to a return to the Motor City—and his performance probably gave Tiger fans a little agita.
'Pretty Ricky' went seven solid innings—giving up just four hits and one earned run—in
a 10-2 blowout win for the Boston. Porcello struck out eight Tabbys and walked just two. He was pretty much in command throughout—en route to his 17th victory of the year. His ERA dropped to 3.22. The offense was paced by
Hanley Ramirez (3-5, 4 RBIs) and
David Ortiz (2-3, 2RBIs, 2R-HR).
Jackie Bradley, Jr. also clouted a 2-run shot—his 21st HR of the year.
Andrew Benintendi was 2-5 with an RBI—raising his average to .327. With losses by Toronto and Baltimore,
The Carmine Hose are now just 1/2 game out of first place in the AL East.
