Sooner or later, we're going to have recognize how good a year
Rick Porcello is having. Despite a few ups and downs along the way, the right-hander has compiled a team-best 11 wins before the All-Star Break. Today, Porcello went seven solid innings—yielding just a first-inning solo HR in Boston's
4-1 win over the Rays.
Xander Bogaerts (2-run HR) and
Dustin Pedroia (2-run single) were the offensive stars.
Jackie Bradley, Jr. and
Sandy Leon also had two hits apiece. With the win, Boston moved into a virtual second-place tie with Toronto (we're actually two percentage points ahead)—both two games back of Baltimore.
