Pomeranz (L); Hill (R) |
Two of the most prominent Red Sox trade targets on the starting pitching front are
Drew Pomeranz of the Padres and old-buddy
Rich Hill of the A's. Last night, both lefties turned in gems that surely enhanced their trade-worthiness. Pomeranz went seven shutout innings in a 6-0 road win over the Dodgers. He gave up just two hits and struck out six—lowering his ERA to 2.47 in his eighth victory of the year. Hill went six innings in a 3-1 road win over the Astros. The 36-year-old gave up just one earned run on three hits while striking out 10—lowering his ERA to 2.25 in his ninth win of the year. Either or both of these guys would be a
major upgrade to the sad Boston rotation.
