Hey, at least they got a safety—then again, that was the defense. Your 2016 Boston Red Sox were embarrassed on national television last night—smoked by the Angels, 21-2. You read that right—
21-2.
Clay Buchholz went 4 1/3 innings and gave up six earned runs. Two of their guys had five hits and at least five RBIs. The last time that happened, it was done by two teammates on the Boston
Braves in 1936. You can't make this stuff up. Anyway, we will spare you the gory details.
Mookie Betts did get three hits—including his 17th HR (the only earned run of the night for
The Carmine Hose).
