Tonight, the Red Sox will break out their incredibly ugly, 1975 double-knit uniforms in their contest with the San Francisco Giants. The uni will have the
equally ugly
'Massachusetts Bicentennial' patch on the left sleeve. Apparently, the Giants will also wear throwback uniforms, complete with garish
Donald Trump-like orange coloring. We know 1975 was a special year for
The Carmine Hose, but do we really have to re-visit the tacky laundry from that World Series year? Besides, according to some, the same uniform and patch were worn during the 1976 season as well. So, maybe it's a 40th anniversary thing. Except, we finished in third place in 1976. We're confused.
