POLL: Papi Is The Majority Choice For First-Half MVP
As the Red Sox head into the All-Star Break, there are multiple players who could be considered their first-half MVP. While the success of the team was largely predicated on a powerful offense, there were significant contributions from the pitching and defense as well. Very early voting in our latest FenwayNation Poll shows that a majority of readers (59%) think David Ortiz was the team's first-half MVP this year. As the chart shows, Xander Bogaerts comes in a distant second with 18% of the vote, followed by Steven Wright at 11%. Jackie Bradley, Jr. is ranked in fourth position at 5%. Both Mookie Betts and Rick Porcello come in next with 2% each. Also, 2% think the Red Sox MVP was someone other than the six listed in the poll. You can still vote in the poll HERE.
