The influential
Baseball Prospectus site has re-shuffled their
Top 50 MLB Prospects list at the mid-point of the 2016 season—and there is good news for the Red Sox.
Yoan Moncada (2B) comes in at #2 overall on the new list—topped only by Phillies shortstop prospect
J.P. Crawford. All told, Boston places four prospects on the list. The other three are:
Andrew Benintendi (OF) at #11,
Rafael Devers (3B) #19, and
Anderson Espinoza (RHP) #24. Interestingly, a
former top Sox prospect—
Manuel Margot (CF)—came in at #16. Margot was part of the package sent to San Diego for
Craig Kimbrel.
