really want to send down two pretty effective relievers? Of course, this raises the possibility of
either trading or designating for assignment Clay Buchholz. He's currently moping around the bullpen with no defined role—except maybe mop-up relief in a blowout. The once
Cy Young-worthy Texan seems almost resigned to the possibility of shedding his
Carmine Hose (remember when he thought he was traded back in early May?). Ideally, a trade (to the Mets in the wake of
Matt Harvey's season-ending surgery?) would be the best development—at least Boston would get
something back.
