Newly acquired third baseman
Aaron Hill had two clutch hits and two RBIs and
David Ortiz clouted his 21st HR of the year in
a 6-5 Boston win over Tampa. Not to be outdone, suddenly surging LF
Bryce Brentz (subbing for an injured
Brock Holt) broke a sixth-inning tie with an RBI single.
Hanley Ramirez also left the game with an injury. Sox starter
Sean O'Sullivan came back down to Earth (after three wins) with a five-inning, four-run effort. Boston picked up a full game on the losing O's, but still sit in third place—two games out of first place.
