Henry Owens |
Henry Owens—once considered the gem of Red Sox pitching prospects—
carried a no-hitter into the eighth-inning yesterday for the AAA PawSox. With two outs in the eighth, the 6'6" lefty still had the no-no going, then yielded an infield single to end the bid. He left with the bases loaded, and the Pawtucket reliever coughed up a three-run double. But, after horrendous outings this year at both the major- and minor-league levels, it's a refreshing step forward for the 23-year old. At
minimum, it will enhance his trade value over the next week or two.
