According to multiple reports, Red Sox closer
Craig Kimbrel could see major league game action as soon as this coming Monday. The plan is for the fire-balling righty to throw one inning at Pawtucket on Saturday and—
if all goes well—activate him for major league action on Monday, August 1st. Earlier reports had suggested that Kimbrel was responding better than expected to rehabilitation of his operation to repair a medial meniscus tear in his left knee. He went on the disabled list on July 9, so a Monday return would meet the
lower end of the original 3-6 weeks.
