FenwayNation was thrilled to be consulted on the nomination process for this year's
Globie Awards—the awards sponsored by the
Boston Globe Sports Department. Yesterday, the nominations were announced, and
it's safe to say that football led the way. For example, Patriots QB
Tom Brady was nominated in
four separate categories— Athlete of the Year, Patriots MVP, Social Media Star, and Most Stylish.
Julian Edelman was nominated in three categories and
Rob Gronkowski in two. The Red Sox
do have their moments, however. For example,
David Ortiz is among the choices for Athlete Of The Year (along with Most Stylish) and
David Price is tabbed in the Social Media Star category. The choices for Red Sox MVP are Ortiz,
Xander Bogaerts,
Mookie Betts and
Dustin Pedroia. Fans can vote on most of these categories at the online Globie page
