Rick Porcello got his ninth win of the year—going six innings in
Boston's 8-2 (much-needed) win over Tampa.
Travis Shaw knocked in five runs (for the third time in 2016) helping Boston
avoid a four-game losing streak for the first time this season. Shaw started the scoring with a towering HR to RF in the second inning, and seems to have shaken the stubborn slump he was in over the last couple of weeks.
David Ortiz,
Hanley Ramirez and
Jackie Bradley, Jr. each had two-hit games (and each had an RBI), as
The Carmine Hose collected 11 hits. The win kept Boston 4.5 games back of the red-hot
Birds Of Baltimore.
