Mookie's Late Charge For Last Starting OF All-Star Slot
The Red Sox are still looking good in the latest MLB update on All-Star Game balloting. David Ortiz (DH), Xander Bogaerts (SS) and Jackie Bradley, Jr. (OF) seem comfortably slotted into to starting roles in the upcoming Midsummer Classic in San Diego. Big Papi has a seemingly insurmountable lead at DH (1,275,759 votes), while Bogie is up by 582,430 votes over his nearest competitor. JBJ (in second place in OF balloting) is up by just 176,044 over third-place holder Lorenzo Cain. Mookie Betts, however, is rapidly challenging Cain—now just 76,973 votes shy of the third starting OF spot. You can vote for All-Stars HERE.
