A former 'sandwich' pick of the Red Sox has signed the largest contract extension ever by a foreign player in Asia. Left-handed pitcher
Kris Johnson—whom the Sox picked #40 in the 2006 supplemental round—signed

Hiroshima Carp. Johnson never actually made it to
The Show while in the Boston organization, but did get major league time with the Pirates and Twins. He was released by Boston in May of 2011.
