Even though he's not the left-handed outfield bat Boston is looking for, the possibility of acquiring former
Rookie Of The Year Wil Myers is pretty tempting. According to Jon Heyman of
TodaysKnuckleball.com,
Myers is available in a trade with the Padres. The 25-year old right-handed-hitting outfielder and first baseman is having a
very good year—hitting .281 with 14 HRs and 39 RBIs in 69 games for San Diego. Getting Myers would probably require other roster moves, but it is an intriguing possibility that could involve other Padre players (e.g. relievers).
