'Clash Of The Titans' (Sort Of) Starts On Tuesday Night
The two top teams in the American League East will start a three-game set tomorrow night at Fenway Park. Given the respective weaknesses of both teams, it's hard to view them as the 'behemoths' of the division. The really scary guys are the streaking Blue Jays—who sit just 2.5 games behind the co-leaders. Both the Sox and O's have serious problems with pitching—Baltimore is ranked 9th in the AL (4.14 ERA), Boston 11th (4.22 ERA). Offense is a different story—The Carmine Hose sit at the very top of the AL with 369 runs scored. The Orioles are not too far behind—sitting in the third spot with 299 runs scored. With exactly 100 games left in the season for both clubs, this series could tell a lot about how things will progress in the balance of the season. And both will see those Toronto guys gaining in the rear view mirror.
