It's amazing how
the actions of a baseball General Manager can reverberate well beyond their tenure with a given franchise. Case in point: your 2016 Red Sox third-baseman
Travis Shaw. You can pass on your thanks to one
Theo Epstein of the Cubbies. Epstein liked Shaw so much he drafted him
twice—once out of high school in 2008 and then again in 2011 out of Kent State. Oh, did we mention that Theo also got us
David Ortiz?
And, these guys as well:
Mookie Betts,
Xander Bogaerts,
Jackie Bradley Jr.,
Christian Vazquez and
Henry Owens. Not bad, Theo.
