David Ortiz and
Rick Porcello as
"Co-Players Of The Month" for April. Ortiz had a
spectacular first month of his final season—hitting .321 with 5 HRs and 19 RBIs. The Boston DH also had 11 doubles, an on-base percentage of .418, a slugging percentage of .654 and an OPS of 1.071. Porcello continued his fine pitching from the end of last season, going 5-0 in April with a stellar 2.76 ERA. The right-hander walked just 6 batters in the month, while striking out 36.
