Usually, news that a player extended a hitting streak to 26 games would be the lead story. Unfortunately for
Jackie Bradley, Jr., that feat of his had to play
third fiddle in
today's 9-1 Boston victory. Taking top honors was
Joe Kelly—who nearly threw a no-no after a month-long hiatus on the DL. Kelly went 6 2/3 shutout innings, yielding just one hit en route to his tenth straight victory (dating back to the end of last season).
Second in line for plaudits was
Mookie Betts. All he did was go 3-5 with three runs scored and five RBIs—including a solo HR and a grand slam. That's pretty much all she wrote.
