Apparently, all those Forth Myers at-bats were useful to
David Murphy. His
Spring Training exposure to the cross-town rival Twins paid off, as
the 34-year old has signed a minor league deal with Minnesota. The ex-Red Sox outfielder will be assigned to AAA Rochester. Murphy was drafted by
The Carmine Hose in 2003 and then traded to the Rangers for the immortal
Eric Gagne. In his playing time with Boston, Murphy hit just .250 in 23 games over two seasons. We wish him the best with the Twinkies—who, frankly, could use the help.
