It looks as if
Christian Vazquez is recovering nicely from last year's
Tommy John surgery—so much so that he's playing now in Pawtucket. Given the recent struggles of
Blake Swihart (both
at and
behind the plate), there is growing talk that
Vazquez could be activated and brought up to the big club from AAA. Even the normally cryptic
John Farrell was
somewhat clear,
"Part of discussions that are ongoing...nothing imminent." Swihart has no extra-base hits so far this year—despite an abundance of playing time. He's also had a bunch of passed balls and had a
huge dropped foul pop-up last night. Stay tuned!
